EAN at 2nd Access to Success Workshop

Towards a coordinated vision of Europe-Africa higher education partnerships: Supporting Institutional capacity building in Africa

The second workshop of the Access to Success: Fostering Trust & Exchange between Europe & Africa  project, of which the EAN is one of the partners, took place on 25-26 February in Oslo, Norway. This workshop focused on policies and programmes that structure institutional co-operation and capacity building between Europe and Africa. Represented by Mee Foong Lee, the EAN was rapporteur for working group 2: "Universities as a catalyst for change". Applications Open for the 2013 World Congress Scholars Programme

Currently enrolled students can now apply for a chance to win a $US1,000 scholarship to undertake a small research project in their local area and travel and accommodation expenses to present their findings at the Wolrd Congress.

The EAN Access Directory: Add Your Access Program

With over 200 institutions, researchers and practitioners working in access, the European Access Network brings together brilliant work from all over Europe and beyond, connecting those dedicated to making education accessible to all.

It is our main intention to keep our members connected and informed in order to spark future project ideas, fruitful collaborations, and even more successful work.

That is the reason behind our new initiative, the Access Directory, which aims to serve as a library of our member's current projects. Full EAN members will be able to search the directory based on different criteria and thus find appropriate project partners.

Call for Proposals: EAN Annual Conference 2015

Deadline: March 2nd 2015

NB: Deadline has been extended until Monday March 23rd

In preparation for this year's conference, entitled "Advocating for access, equity, inclusion and diversity in HE: politics, policies, power and persuasion" the EAN welcomes proposals addressing the following questions:

  • What forms of education inequalities are the most difficult to overcome? Why are they so challenging and what strategies should we use?
  • What are the factors that make change difficult to achieve?   What strategies should we use to overcome them?

The 24th EAN Annual Conference

The 24th EAN Annual Conference will take place in Oslo, Norway, in collaboration with the Norsk Studentorganisasjon Norway (NSO), 7th - 9th June 2015. The theme and title will be decided shortly after the 23rd conference in Edinburgh. Please visit our website for update.

Higher Education in the 21st century: Meeting the Global Challenge

5 - 8 October 2015, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur 2015 will address the role of access to post-secondary education in Asia and the South Pacific, and in supporting the nation building of Asian countries.

It will bring together those from across the world to whom access to postsecondary education matters in an interactive environment to foster new collaborations, innovation and forge a roadmap to close the access gap in forthcoming years.
